Sandra Arpa nace en Madrid. A los seis años comienza su formación artística como bailarina de  ballet clásico, disciplina que desarrollará hasta los 16.

Como actriz da sus primeros pasos en el aula de teatro de la UAM al mismo tiempo que realiza sus estudios de Psicología e inglés en el British Council.

 

A sus 22 años viaja a Buenos Aires becada por del Ministerio de Cultura donde continuará su formación junto a  maestros como Ricardo Bartís, Pompeyo Audivert y Guillermo Angellelli entre otros. En la ciudad argentina también trabaja con compañías de teatro  y productoras de cine independiente. De esa época destaca Seres de la Tierra, montaje teatral y documental cinematográfico apoyado por la UNESCO, cuyo proceso de investigación y creación se desarrolla en La Patagonia Argentina junto a población mapuche. Regresa Madrid donde combina su formación (Madrid, Londres, Nueva York,  Buenos Aires)  con su trabajo en teatro, cine y tv. 

 

En cine protagoniza diferentes cortometrajes entre los que destacan Dentro del Bosque de Luis Caballero, Selección Oficial Festival Cine de Málaga y La Nadadora de Gemma Vidal en la Seminci Valladolid.  En televisión participa en series como Homicidios o Al salir de clase y en webseries como MalvaII o Spanish Sitcom.

 

En teatro ha trabajado tanto para Teatros Nacionales; con la Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico con En esta vida todo es verdad y todo mentira de Calderón de la Barca dirigida por Ernesto Caballero o el Centro Dramático Nacional con La Comedia que Nunca escribió Mihura de Carlos Contreras dirigido por Tamzin Townsend, como para productoras privadas con Tomás Moro; una Utopía de Ignacio García May para UNIR, entre otras.

 

Como docente es coach de actores y actrices en inglés y castellano, imparte talleres de teatro a niños, adultos amateur, estudiantes de interpretación y actores profesionales en: el Corral de Comedias de Alcalá de Henares (Teatro La Abadía), Kings College (Londres), Canterbury University (Kent), Bibliotecas de la Comunidad y Ayuntamiento de Madrid, colegios e institutos de Alcobendas (CAID).

 

Desde 2016 forma parte como directora, productora, actriz y dramaturga junto con Paula Rodríguez de la compañía Teatro Inverso, que debuta con el espectáculo Rosaura, versión libre de La vida es sueño de Calderón de la Barca. Al estreno en el  El Corral de Comedias de Alcalá de Henares le ha seguido la participación el Festival de Teatro Clásico de Almagro, Festival Teatro Clásico de Olite, el Festival de Teatro Women and War (Londres), en el Festival Shakespeare (Londres) en su versión bilingüe.

 

En 2017 protagoniza la obra teatral Furiosa Escandinavia de Antonio Rojano en la sala Margarita Xirgú del Teatro Español y el monólogo Erminia de Lucía Vilanova en el Festival de Teatro Clásico de Almagro.

En Febrero de 2018 estrena En un Tiempo Oscuro de Daniel Teba obra teatral producida por Naves del Matadero de Madrid.

 

En el 2019 estrena como dramaturga, ditectora y actriz el espectáculo Wonders coproducido junto con en Festival Tercera Setmana de Valencia y como actriz en el espectáculo teatral Momo dirigido por Juan Ayala y Annie Lock en Conde Duque,Madrid.

Sandra Arpa was born in Madrid.  At the age of six she started her artistic career as a classical ballet dancer. 
After studying psychology at the UAM she started her acting training in Buenos Aires being granted a scholarship by the Spanish Ministry of Culture. She has studied with leading directors such as Ricardo Bartís, Pompeyo Audivert and Guillermo Angellelli - member of The Bridge of Winds (Odin Theatre) specializing in Anthropological theatre.

 

Among his works developed in Argentina stands out Seres de la Tierra, a theatre production and documentary film supported by UNESCO, whose research and creation process takes place in the Argentinean Patagonia with the Mapuche population.

 

She combined her acting training between Madrid , London and New York with her work in cinema, television and especially theater.

 

In cinema she stars in several short films among which stand out Dentro del Bosque directed by Luis Caballero (Official selection at Málaga Cinema Festival) and La Nadadora directed by Gemma Vidal (Semincci Cinema Festival Valladolid). She has starred in tv shows such as Homicidios or Al salir de clase and in webseries such as MalvaII or Spanish Sitcom.

 

In theatre he has worked both for national and private theatres; She acted for the National Classical Theatre Company in En esta vida todo es Verdad y todo Mentira by Calderón de la Barca directed by Ernesto Caballero and at the  National Dramatic Center starring in the play La Comedia que nunca escribió Mihura by Carlos Contreras directed by Tamzin Townsend,  In the independent scene she acted in Tomás Moro; and in Una Utopia by Ignacio García May , among others.

 

Since 2010 she is co-founder, performer,author and dramaturgist of the Social  Theatre Company La Rueda Teatro Social, an artistic company that uses theatrical language and performance as a tool for social transformation. She has especialiced in the item Uses of New Technologies, working at schools, colleges, Universities and for the comunity. 

 

Since 2015 she is co-director, producer, actress and playwright along with Paula Rodríguez of Teatro Inverso. The first production as a company, Rosaura, a free adaptation of Life is the dream by Calderon de la Barca has been touring since its premiere  in several  theatres and Festival in Spain and abroad as El Corral de Comedias de Alcalá de Henares, Festival de Teatro Clásico de Almagro, Festival Teatro Clásicode Olite, Women and War Festival (Londres), Festelon Spanish Theatre Festival  (London), Canterbury Christ Church University (Kent) among others. Hr second project with Teatro Inverso, Wonders, inspired on Cervantes’ works, will premiere in 2018.

 

As a teacher she ran workshops, conferences and training focusing on the Siglo de Oro plays and their adaptation to the contemporary performing arts for different academic centers and institutions such as the Municipal School of Dramatic Art (Madrid), the Corral de Comedias de Alcalá and outside Spain at the Kings College (London), and Canterbury Christ Church University (Kent) in the frame of the educational programme Rosaura's Journey.

 

In 2017 she starred in the play Furiosa Escandinavia by Antonio Rojano at the Teatro Español in Madrid and in the monologue Erminia by Lucía Vilanova at  the Almagro Festival of Classical Theater 
In February 2018 she has premiered En un Tiempo Oscuro written by the playwright Daniel Teba at the Arts Center Naves del Matadero in Madrid.

In March 2018 she starts the  rehearsals of the play Las esposas españolas by Mary Pix directed by Tamzin Townsend.
